The Pediatric Cardiology clinical service provides special care to infants and children with heart disease that can not be met or understood by adult cardiology services.

The service is comprehensive and provides an efficient policy for referral:

• Same day access to consults and referrals.

• Same day access to diagnostic testing.

• Single point of access for patient examination and diagnostic testing (6E10 suite).

• Single phone number to call (573) 882-2501

• Same day/next day feedback to referring physicians by phone, email, FAX or letter.

• 24 hour & 7 day a week coverage is always available, including Medical, Invasive, Intensive, Interventional and CT surgical services.

All of the pediatric cardiology faculty are board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology:

The staff are trained and certified Pediatric Cardiographers.

 

State of the art equipotents include electrocardiographs, echocardiographs, color flow Doppler, Holter monitors, exercise treadmill and pulse oximeter.

 

Consults are provided for UMHC, Green Meadows Clinics, CRH, MMMH, Boone Hospital Center, and Capital Regional Hospital.

 

Outreach clinics are established in Hannibal, Kirksville and Fort Leonard Wood.

 

Clinical Services are available for congenital heart disease, acquired heart disease, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, syncope and chest pain and fetal echocardiography.
