Children’s Blood Disorders and Cancer Unit (CBCU) |

The CBCU is a state of the art facility at MU’s Children’s Hospital. Pediatric Hematology and Oncology physicians Nasrollah Hakami, MD, and Barbara Gruner, MD, lead a multidisciplinary team of nurses and health-care professionals who provide comprehensive outpatient care to young patients with cancer, sickle cell anemia, hemophilia and other hematologic disorders.
All aspects of support for the patient’s family, including education and counseling. Family members meet with the health-care team that often includes physicians, surgeons, nurses, dietitians, social workers, child life activity therapists and advanced-practice nurses.
