Dr. Horwitz’s primary interest is in the early identification and treatment of children with neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD, pervasive developmental disorders and other developmental problems.  She provides assessment and consultation that takes into account psychosocial issues, behavioral-emotional-developmental factors, and community resources.  She collaborates closely other medical and health professionals.  She is the coordinator and co-director of the ADHD Clinic and the director of the Child Psychology Testing Laboratory.  Prior to joining the Department of Child Health, Dr. Horwitz spent ten years at Mid-Missouri Mental Health Center where she served as psychologist for the early childhood program and child/adolescent inpatient unit, director of children’s outpatient services, and member of the incest treatment team.  She has served local boards that address early intervention and community mental health issues.
